Now that the infrastructure is in place, it’s time to build and publish blueprints that users can deploy through the Service Broker catalog.
Publishing Blueprint to Catalog
This is the section we finally begin publishing the blueprint to catalog .Click New and Enter Name, Select Project, And Create & import (select prod project, it will import blueprints from the prod project)
Creating a Cloud Template for Ubuntu VM
Cloud Assembly → Design → Cloud Templates → New
Start with a blank canvas and drag: Machine & Network and connect them

Enter a version number, select Release this version to the catalog and click create

The new version is thus created

Use the Test button to validate syntax and ensure the blueprint is deployable. Fix any errors and re‑test.

Publishing to the Catalog
Go to: Service Broker → Content Sources → New

Choose VMware Cloud Templates

Select the source project as production and give it a name and click create and import

This is actually Import the blueprint process.

Create a Content Sharing Policy
To make the policy item visible to users, we need to create a Content Sharing Policy

These templates are the ones we are making it available for consumption

Navigate to: Policies → Definitions → New
Choose:
- Policy type: Content Sharing
- Scope: your project

Add the blueprint

Save the policy to make the item visible to users.

So finally our definitions are ready

On the catalog we are now ready to hit the request button to kick off our first VM using VRA.

You can find specific custom naming for VMs in the custom naming section

We define a format as virt${###} so all my VM’s deployed by vra will have a prefix attached

Click assign project to assign this Naming Template to VMs deployed into this Project.

So our project will look like this now with Custom names added

In the next blog, we’ll walk through deploying Linux and Windows VMs — including automatic AD domain join.
