In this blog, we will link our vCenter in our home lab to vRops.

There are a few different types of accounts that can be added to the vRops 8.X

  • vCenter
  • VMC
  • VMware Cloud on AWS
  • VMware Cloud on GCP

Let’s begin by creating some credentials to make our job easy

Login to https://vrops-1.ash.local/ui

Go to Administration > Management > Add Account

I will just add an account in here which can login to our vCenter

Once the account has been created, we will see an entry as shown

Go back to Administration > Management > Add Account and select the account type for our vCenter

Give the Cloud Account a name, input the vCenter we wish to connect to and use the credentials we created earlier.

Click validate the connection button to proceed further and then Clck Add

Review the certificate and Click Accept

The connection to vCenter is thus setup and will appear under our Cloud Accounts as shown

This will now take a few minutes for vRops to populate all stats.

After few moments, our vCenter stats will appear under the Operations Overview tab.
