Part 9 – Configure Virtual Networks from VM Essentials Manager 9.1

Just similar to NSX, The IP Pools tab in the Networks section allows you to create HPE Morpheus Software-type IP Pools (which is an IP address range HPE Morpheus Software can use to assign available static IP addresses to Instances)

Create IP pool

Go to Infrastructure → Network → IP Pools → Add.

Under the Create Network pool definethe following

  • Name: Finance Pool
  • Description: Give a description
  • Group: lab
  • Pool type: Morpheus
  • IP Range – 172.16.19.100, ending address 172.16.19.120

To add a domain Go to Infrastructure → Network → Domains → Add.

  • Domain name: lab.internal . Don’t pick localdomain as that will be a subdomain
  • Description: Lab DNS zone (Technitium 172.16.11.5)
  • Group: Lab
  • Public Zone: unticked.
  • Active: ticked
  • Join Domain Controller: unticked and leave all the fields under it empty.

The domain is ready

Next, we add some port groups on our vSwitch just the way we do on our ESX
