In this blog, we will move our vRLCM 8.2 instance to vRLCM 8.6 and after this is done we will upgrade all our other vRealize products via this tool.
Login to the Life cycle manager and find the version installed
We will do an offline mode upgrade so we will download the “VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.6.2 Update Repository Archive” ISO file from the VMware portal.
Upload the ISO to the datastore and mount the ISO to vRLCM VM
Go to vRLCM LifeCyle Operation view and click on System Upgrade
Create Snapshot to take the appliance backup
Validate if the snapshot is taken
Click on CD ROM and click check for upgrade
Check the box and click Submit
This will now take around 10 minutes for services to come back online.
Go to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI and sign in admin@local
Go to System details and we can now see the vRLCM has been upgraded to 8.6
Go to Settings > Product Support Pack to see all the new components now supported
All these products can be upgraded, patched, and installed via this version of Arla
