Part 15 – Local Disk Configuration Policies

Loading

Local disk configuration is what determines the local raid on the lun we attach for boot on the blade. The policy thus we attach to the service profile determines how the raid level is applied. This is just similar to how we create a raid on the server with local HDD disks on it and manually apply RAID 1 on it.

Click on the Servers Tab – Policies – Local Disk Config Policies. Right-click Local Disk Config Policy to Create Local Disk Configuration Policy.

Enter a name and Description and select the Mode or type of RAID configuration that you would like applied to the local disks of the Cisco UCS blade, I also select Protect Configuration. So if the blade is disassociated from the service policy, it will keep the RAID 1 Mirrored configuration.

Our RAID 1 local disk policy is now created.
